Police attaché
The National Police of the Netherlands is represented at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Canberra by the Police Attaché. The Police Attaché’s principal role is to build and maintain relationships with the Australian law enforcement authorities and relevant partners. Furthermore, the Police Attaché promotes the exchange of police information between Australia and the Netherlands and provides advice to Dutch authorities. The Police Attaché works on combating transnational organized crime, cyber security, terrorism, and online child abuse.
The Police Attaché can be approached by the National Police of the Netherlands, Dutch judicial authorities, and other domestic and foreign law enforcement organizations. Dutch citizens requiring police assistance in Australia are advised to contact the Australian local police department.
