The human rights policy of the Netherlands focuses on the following priorities:
• Equal rights for women and girls;
• Equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI);
• Freedom of expression and internet freedom (including press freedom);
• Freedom of religion or belief;
• Support for human rights defenders and space for civil society;
• International accountability for the most serious crimes.
The government regularly informs Parliament on specific human rights concerns and efforts around the world, including in China. More information on our human rights policy and links to relevant documents can be found here.
