The Netherlands and Croatia marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2022. Today, our two countries have excellent and friendly bilateral relations.
The Netherlands Embassy in Zagreb marked this important anniversary with people and environment in mind. Reflecting on 30 years of our relations, people have always been at the core and connecting our nations. We have therefore listened to their life stories and started to publish a serial of stories sharing their experiences of living in both countries with you. We are happy that the Croatian Embassy in the Hague has also joined in this project.
Another  token of appreciation of our collaboration was marked by the Embassy planting trees throughout beautiful Croatia, in areas where the Netherlands has been present with bilateral cooperation projects in the past thirty years. We wanted this to be a long lasting footprint of our partnership, and our joint care for the environment. 

'Ties and Tulips' stories 

People are a true bridge between the Netherlands and Croatia. With the project “Ties and Tulips” we share the stories and experiences of Croats in the Netherlands and Dutch people in Croatia. Their inspirational messages reflect on what the Netherlands and Croatia have in common, and what makes them different. The project is done in cooperation with the Croatian Embassy in the Hague.
