The Netherlands gives a serious emphasis to improving the position of women in the society. One way we do this in the context of our bilateral programs is by understanding  bottlenecks related to gender roles and design strategies that address the challenges in a transformative manner. We give stronger emphasis to women empowerment particularlyin our Food, Nutrition Security and water Programs. 

Considering the enormous challenges for Ethiopian youth to find jobs, our development programs target young people as much as possible. We also believe it ia essential to hear the voice of young people and have their views integrated in program design. We do this by supporting initiatives that stimulate economic, social as well as political participation of young people.
