H.E. Mr. Jeroen Verheul has been ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ghana since 2021.

1984-1985: European Parliament, assistant to MEP Bob Cohen

1985 – present :  Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands

1985 – 1986    :    The Hague (diplomatic training)

1986 – 1988    :    Yaoundé (Cameroon) - Netherlands Embassy (i.e. responsible for Netherlands’ development co-operation with Chad) 

1988 – 1992    :   The Hague, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (i.e. private secretary to the State Secretary for European Affairs)

1992 – 1996    :   Lusaka (Zambia) - Netherlands Embassy,  posted as,  Deputy Head of Development Co-operation

1996 – 1999    :   The Hague (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)  as Deputy Head, Humanitarian Assistance Division

1999 – 2002    :  Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) – Netherlands Embassy, posted as Head of Development Co-operation and Deputy Ambassador

2002 – 2007    :   Paris (France) – Netherlands delegation to the OECD  posted as Deputy Permanent Representative

2007 – 2012    :  Kampala, posted as Netherlands’ Ambassador to Uganda

2012 – 2014    :   Sana’a, posted as Netherlands’Ambassador to Yemen

2014 – 2017    :  The Hague, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, posted as Ambassador at large for Aid and Trade
