Dutch Ambassador Presented His Credentials to Indonesian President

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto officially received the letters of credence from seven new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors, including Dutch Ambassador Marc Gerritsen, on Monday afternoon, November 4, 2024. The ceremony took place in the Credential Room of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The proceedings commenced with a ceremonial welcome involving the Indonesian military as an honor guard. Each ambassador was greeted with their national anthem, signifying the mutual respect between Indonesia and the respective nations.

Following the ceremonial welcome in the palace courtyard, each ambassador was escorted inside the Merdeka Palace to present their credentials directly to President Prabowo. During the ceremony, President Prabowo was accompanied by Indonesia’s Foreign Minister, Sugiono.


 

Ambassador Marc, who was accompanied to the event by his spouse Yvonne, expressed his commitment to deepening the long-standing connection, friendship and cooperation between the Netherlands and Indonesia. The Netherlands is eager to engage with the new administration, supporting its priorities such as food security, water resilience, cultural collaboration, and building on the robust partnership that unites our two countries.
