On July 31, 2024, we celebrated the successful conclusion of the "Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) E-certification between The Netherlands & Indonesia" program.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including including the Dutch Ambassador Lambert Grijns, Joost van Uum (Agriculture Counselor), Lex Moret (Expert from NVWA), Drasospolino (Acting Director of Forest Product Processing and Marketing - KLHK), Krisdianto (Head of Center for Standardization of Disaster Resilience and Climate Change Instrument), Putera Parthama (Former DG of Sustainable Forest Management - KLHK), representatives from ADP member states, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesian Quarantine Agency, NGOs, Associations, and Knowledge Institutes. As the project concludes, we gather to share the findings and discuss potential follow-ups.

This project has enabled Indonesia and the Netherlands to collaborate on electronic data exchange over the last five years. The initiative, implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, aims to improve the FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance, and Trade) licensing scheme between the EU, particularly the Netherlands, and Indonesia, in accordance with the Indonesia-EU Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) on FLEGT.

The discussions were insightful, paving the way for potential future collaborations. The Embassy extends its heartfelt thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions. We look forward to building on this success and creating an even greater impact together.
