About Rising Tide:
The Human Consequences of Rising Sea Levels Rising Tide provides
vivid visual documentation of how the climate crisis is already
affecting places where people live, including Jakarta. It offers a
multi-dimensional perspective on the impact of rising water levels, a
testament to Kadir van Lohuizen’s dedication and comprehensive
investigation. The exhibition invites the audiences to confront the
stark reality of our collective future and urges society to
collectively strive for sustainable solutions.
About Kadir van Lohuizen
Kadir van Lohuizen is best known for his long-term photography
project, which includes the consequences of the rising sea levels, the
diamond industry and migration in the Americas, among others. Based in
Amsterdam, Kadir has received numerous prizes and awards in
photojournalism and is a founding member of NOOR Images. In 2000 and
2002 he was a jury member of the World Press Photo contest and was on
the supervisory board of the World Press Photo Foundation.
