On July 1, 2024, the Dutch Embassy in Indonesia, the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE), the Reinwardt Academie, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government came together to continue the Museum Knowledge Exchange Programme.

This initiative aims to:

  • Sharing knowledge on museum best practices.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer exchanges through creative workshops.
  • Modernise Jakarta’s museums to attract visitors post-pandemic.
  • Identify potential collaborations between Jakarta and Dutch museums.

This program consists of 3 training: Strategic Museum Management in October 2023, followed by Family Programmes for Museums this July. In October, a final training will be organized with a focus on Assessing Museum Collections.

Adriaan Palm, Deputy Head of Mission of the Netherlands Embassy in Indonesia, emphasized: “Through the Museum Knowledge Exchange Program, we aim to share our expertise and foster a dynamic exchange of ideas that will benefit to improve museum collaborations in the near future”.

We are excited about this multi-year collaboration and the continuous progress and innovation it brings!

Training participants from museum representatives in Jakarta attended a session at the Jakarta Historical Museum.
