About What if Lab: Sustainable Public Spaces
The exhibition highlights an intercultural program that invites designers from Indonesia and the Netherlands to co-create public spaces within Jakarta’s kampung communities. What if Lab: Sustainable Public Spaces is one of What if Lab’s projects to answer societal challenges, as they bring together design studios and organizations to combine expertise, networks and resources needed to achieve change.
Through an open call, three Indonesian and two Dutch designers were selected to develop the project, namely Pim van Baarsen and el KANTOOR from the Netherlands and Iqra Firdausy, Anastasia Dinda and ōd architecture studio from Indonesia. In this second What if Lab project in Indonesia, Erasmus Huis and Dutch Design Foundation collaborate with Playo and Kampung Kollektief to empower locals to reimagine and revitalize their public spaces, forging a path toward a more sustainable future.
