Temporary Vacancy: Project Manager NFIA

This position is a 6-month Maternity Cover for the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Israel

We are
The Embassy represents the interests of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Israel and is based in Ramat Gan. The interests are manifold: economic (trade, investment and innovation), political (maintaining good ties with Israel, addressing regional and global challenges), consular and cultural. Specific services are rendered to victims of World War II. 

The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) is part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. We are responsible for the international promotion of the Netherlands as a business location for foreign companies and for actively attracting and supporting those foreign companies that contribute to the sustainable earning capacity of the Netherlands. NFIA does this in collaboration with partners in the Invest in Holland network. With our strategic marketing and acquisition activities, we focus on strengthening existing Dutch ecosystems. We offer
We offer a position of Temporary Project Manager, starting June 25, 2025 for a fixed term of 6 months maternity cover. Gross basic monthly salary is between 14,881 - 16,369 ILS per month depending on relevant work experience (subject to taxation in Israel); a 6 month contract (subject to a one months’ probation period) for 37.5 hours per week (working week is Monday to Friday) with flexibility as regards working times and location on Fridays. 

Job description 

You support the Area Director NFIA Israel and work together with the economic cluster at the Embassy. You are responsible for identifying and guiding companies that can further strengthen the Dutch economy through establishment or follow-up investments. You approach companies that are active in the fields of Agrifood, life sciences & health, IT, energy, chemicals, and high-tech systems and materials. You guide, inform and advise these companies in their search for the most suitable location in the Netherlands. Work is also done in joint effort with NFIA headquarters in The Hague, and the Invest in Holland network (regional and local governments in the Netherlands that focus on investment promotion), as well as local intermediaries/service providers. Together you inspire each other to bring the most innovative companies to the Netherlands.
 
Finally, you join efforts in organizing and participating in a variety of activities such as seminars, trade fairs and investment-oriented inbound trade missions with ministers, local and regional governments.  

Where will you work? 
You will work at our NFIA Tel Aviv office which is housed at the Embassy in Ramat Gan. The NFIA team in Israel consists of one Project Manager (who you will be replacing during her leave) and the Area Director NFIA Israel. Within the One Team concept, you also contribute to the larger tasks of the Embassy, in particular where it involves requests from Foreign Affairs, and RVO in The Hague. 

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an energetic, flexible, proactive colleague who is eager to learn, likes to get things done and is able to work independently in a structured and result-oriented way. You are constantly looking for the most interesting prospects in Israel and build relationships, with the aim of getting the Netherlands in the picture and ultimately bringing the expansion plans to the Netherlands.


Qualifications
•    Completed academic education, preferably with an economics component, economics or business administration.
•    1-3 years of work experience, preferably international commercial experience in the field of promotion, sales or acquisition and experience in dealing with companies from Israel.
•    Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing), good understanding of Hebrew is a plus. Fluency in Dutch is an asset.
•    Excellent research skills, naturally curious and up-to-date on economic developments worldwide, specifically in Israel  and the Netherlands.
•    Quickly familiar with a CRM system and other databases for collecting and processing information.
•    Great networking and communication skills. Extensive business network is an asset.
•    General knowledge of the Dutch economy and the Dutch investment climate is a strong plus.
•    Israeli citizenship or a valid work permit for Israel.
•    Proactive can-do approach, team player, result oriented, flexible, reliable.
•    Ability to work independently.
•    Ability to work cross-culturally in a politically delicate environment.

Responsibilities
•    Support in identifying and contacting companies that may be looking to set up activities in the Netherlands based on a sector/market focus.
•    Support in monitoring the progress of current investment projects.
•    Support in contacting companies from Israel  already established in the Netherlands as part of our Investor Relations program.
•    Maintenance of the CRM and project administration. 
•    Tracking resources to build our pipeline of potential leads.
•    Research and monitoring of developments within selected sectors.
•    Participate in events in Israel and represent NFIA interests.
•    Execution of the daily administrative tasks (making appointments, keeping track of action points, etc.), financial administration and organizational support of webinars/seminars, roadshows and visits to and from the Netherlands
Competencies.
•    Pro-active and result-oriented: you formulate concrete goals and translate goals into concrete actions. You take initiative and are able to convince people with the right arguments. 
•    Planning and organizing of events included in the Annual Plan, such as roadshows, conference, (high level) incoming visits, etc.  
•    Networking: you are socially minded and establish and maintain contacts in different circles and at different levels with people and organizations relevant to your own position. 
•    Collaboration: you enjoy working in teams, are a strong communicator and are open to giving and receiving constructive feedback. You are curious and have an open attitude. You are flexible and available for domestic and/or international travel (on occasion). 
•    Integrity: you are aware of the norms and values that apply within the organization. You can handle confidential information and are discrete and honest. 
•    You understand the complexities of the decision-making process within companies and collaborate within the Invest in Holland network in offering advice. As such you increase the chances of a successful investment decision.
