Jordanian Business Delegation Concludes Visit to the Netherlands

On Thursday 15 December, 2023 a Jordanian delegation of business owners concluded a working visit to the Netherlands, organized by the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Amman and the Netherlands-MENA Business Council. The delegation consisted of Jordanian businesses in the field of food packing, processing and manufacturing.

From 12 – 15 December, the delegation met with a number of Dutch institutions and businesses including: the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Netherlands Senior Experts (PUM), and the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI). Next to informal meetings with members of the Dutch business community, the delegation visited several companies specialized in food production and packaging, exchanging knowledge on the different steps along the food production line.

Ali Murad, president of JEBA, said: “There is no doubt that meetings like these are fruitful and open horizons for expanding trade between Jordan and the Netherlands.We always look forward, as the Jordan Europe Business Association, to increase commercial cooperation with the Netherlands, to receive commercial delegations in the future, and to participate in international exhibitions in which the Netherlands is distinguished from other countries.”

Throughout the working visit, the participants paid visits to fresh food supplying and packaging company Menken van den Assem, Dutch wholesaler Sligro, and machine designing company Schutten Machines. A meeting with the Jordanian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Daifallah al Fayez, was also part of the working visit.

Mohammed Abu Odeh, a Jordanian businessman and participant of the trade delegation, said: “It was an honor to accompany the delegation of Jordanian businessmen to meet with our Dutch counterparts in The Hague, the Netherlands. It was a pleasure to be welcomed by his excellency the Jordanian Ambassador, Dhaifallah al-Fayez, who hosted us at his headquarters and briefed us on the many possibilities for trade  and investment In the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This trade mission helped us seek future opportunities and further possible trade relations between the two countries.”

The embassy works closely with a wide variety of local partners and stakeholders, including the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to promote and strengthen mutual economic and trade relations and ultimately contribute to an economically resilient Jordan.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands also aims to promote entrepreneurship, private sector development and improved market access in the fields of horticulture, food processing, water management, green energy and automation.
