Proof of life for AOW state pension is now even easier with the App.

Dutch nationals and non-Dutch nationals who live outside the Netherlands and receive a Dutch general old age pension (AOW) can submit proof of life using the Digidentity application on a smartphone or tablet. This is a new extra service on top of the existing services that are already in place for this purpose. It is free of charge and does not require a DigiD. Letters from the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) about submitting proof of life now contain a QR code to download the App.

What is needed to provide proof of life using the App?

• A smartphone or tablet with an NFC reader
• A valid identity document with an NFC chip (passport, ID card, or Dutch driving license)
• An internet connection. 

If you do not have a smartphone or tablet, you can use someone else’s. After the proof of life has been sent, no personal data will be left on the device.
