NL and Kenya lay foundation for strengthened trade relationship
On October 15th, a significant milestone was achieved in Nairobi with the signing of the Terms of Reference for the Joint Trade Committee (JTC) between Kenya and the Netherlands. The agreement was formalized by Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Trade, Mr. Alfred Ombudo K'Ombudo, and the Dutch Vice Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Ms. Yvette van Eechoud.
The Joint Trade Committee is set to become a cornerstone for structured annual bilateral dialogue, focusing on trade, production, and investments. Its primary objectives include improving the business climate, enhancing market access, and fostering deeper economic cooperation between the two nations.
As Kenya’s largest export market in Europe and a vital investment partner, the Netherlands plays a pivotal role in Kenya’s economic landscape. The establishment of this committee is expected to further strengthen trade relations and unlock new opportunities for economic growth.
