Special screening of the Ukrainian film Nice Ladies as part of Human Rights Week
In collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in Lithuania, we had the honor of hosting a special screening of the Ukrainian film Nice Ladies as part of Human Rights Week. This event not only marked an important cultural moment but also underscored the enduring spirit of resilience and courage in the face of adversity.
As the Ambassador Jack Twiss Quarles van Ufford expressed during the event: "This week reminds us of the values we hold dear: equality, dignity, and freedom for all. These values are not abstract—they are lived and fought for by real people, often in the most challenging circumstances."
Through this screening, we aimed to showcase the intersection of art and human rights, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in fostering empathy and inspiring action. As Ukraine fights to defend its sovereignty and fundamental rights, Nice Ladies serves as a poignant reminder of the power of resilience, solidarity, and inner peace in the most difficult circumstances.
We are grateful to Movies that Matter and Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken for their support in making this event possible, as well as to all who joined us for the screening and the meaningful discussions that followed.
Together, we stand with Ukraine, reaffirming our commitment to defending human rights and ensuring that these vital stories are heard around the world.
