Invitation to the National Commeration on the 4th of May in Oslo, Norway

Every year, the Netherlands commemorates the Dutch military and civilians who, since the beginning of World War II, have lost their lives in armed conflicts and peace operations. This worldwide Remembrance Day will be organized by the Netherlands Embassy on Vestre Gravlund on Saturday the 4th of May 2024. Vestre Gravlund is the location where all the Dutch war graves in Norway have been brought together.

The course of the ceremony will be as follows:

19.45   Guests gather in front of the Dutch monument at Vestre Gravlund (entrance Sørkedalsveien near Volvat Medical centre)
19.50   Introduction followed by speeches
19.59   Signal attention
20.00   Two minutes of commemoration in silence
20.02   Playing Dutch national Anthem
20.05   Wreath laying by the Ambassador, Netherlands Defence Attaché, and a representative of the Dutch community; followed by laying of roses by all who wish to do so

After the Ceremony you are welcome at the Netherlands residence, Gyldenløvesgate 51, for coffee, to reflect on the ceremony. The end of this event is foreseen at 21.00.
