The Dutch Embassy in Warsaw took a unique approach to King's Day this year, with a focus on environmental responsibility. The theme, "Orange Goes Green," permeated the entire event, showcasing innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

Partnerships for Sustainability

The Embassy collaborated with various Dutch and Polish companies at the forefront of eco-friendly practices. Rijk Zwaan, a renowned seed company, demonstrated the impact of high-quality seeds on harvest yields and climate resilience. Koppert, a leader in natural plant protection, showcased their beehives and eco-friendly pest control solutions.

A Taste of the Future: 3D Food Printing

Guests were treated to a glimpse of the future with 3D food printing by 3D by Flow printers. While the reception featured a playful 3D-printed Dutch logo, this technology holds promise for personalized nutrition, particularly for individuals with dietary restrictions.

Sustainable Delights

Vivera and Vion Food, two companies specializing in meat alternatives, tantalized taste buds with their delicious vegetarian options. Vivera's products offered a realistic meat-eating experience, proving that plant-based alternatives can be both flavorful and satisfying.

Rethinking Food Waste

Re-Bread bakery addressed the issue of food waste by creating innovative products that utilize leftover bread. Their offerings included bread popcorn, kombucha, body scrubs, and even alcoholic beverages, all incorporating stale bread as a key ingredient.

Sustainable Energy and Transportation

The Embassy ensured a clean energy footprint by utilizing a solar-powered battery system provided by Storage Partners. Additionally, the event highlighted sustainable transportation options available in Poland. Guests were able to explore various types of bicycles, from classic Gazelle bikes offered by WygodnyRower to innovative cargo bikes from Towarowe.pl. One bike, adorned with vibrant tulips, became a popular photo opportunity, cleverly combining Dutch culture with eco-consciousness.

This event successfully demonstrated the Embassy's commitment to promoting sustainability, showcasing innovation and collaboration for a greener future.
