Objective of the project

The purpose of the different project activities is to contribute to the further improvement of the poultry sector in Sri Lanka in terms of competitiveness, efficiency, food quality and food safety, animal welfare, sustainability and environmental impact. Besides, with this project the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Colombo, Sri Lanka aims to scope for Dutch opportunities for cooperation, trade and investments in the poultry sector.

Target audience

Small and Medium Scale Poultry Entrepreneurs

Training Course Subjects

  1. Feed management
  2. Health management
  3. Farm business and quality & safety management
  4. Advisory and training skills

The execution of the training courses are both online and face-to-face in Sri-Lanka by local and international project experts. All activities will combine theoretical and practical training sessions and workshops.

Period

December 2022 – December 2023 with multiple blended training activities

Locations

Kuliyapitiya, Peradeniya/Kandy, Anuradhapura and Bandarawela

Who can apply

Agricultural Extension Workers (Public and Private) actively involved in developing the Sri-Lankan poultry sector.  We are looking for Extension Workers with general agricultural production and/or veterinary experience. Reading and understanding English is required for registration. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
