The Netherlands is dedicated to promoting freedom of expression and media in Tanzania through initiatives like the Young Female Journalists Academy, run by Tanzania Bora Initiative (TBI). Our interventions focus on the role and empowerment of women, supporting human rights organizations such as Empower Society Transform Lives (ESTL), which actively combats female genital mutilation (FGM) in the Singida region.

We also champion women in leadership by collaborating with organizations like Doyenne, which offers the 'Niongeze Fellowship' to train university student leaders. To promote democratic practices, the Netherlands supports youth political dialogues organized by the Tanzania Center for Democracy (TCD), encouraging young voices to engage in governance. Additionally, we advocate for youth participation in critical discussions on issues such as climate change.
