🌊 Announcing Salt Forum 2025: Exploring the Politics, Ecologies, and Narratives of Water 🌊

We are proud to be a supporter of Salt Forum 2025, a year-long public program and e-publication project centered around the theme of water. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the program will investigate the sociocultural, political, and ecological dimensions of water—how it is accessed, distributed, and controlled—while uncovering the visible and invisible infrastructures shaping our relationship with this vital resource.

Led by architect Merve Bedir, one of the study groups within Salt Forum will engage in three creative phases—dictionary, memory, and evidence—mapping underground water flows, tracing water’s linguistic and historical meanings, and documenting its fluid infrastructures. The group includes researchers Ifor Duncan and Ola Hassanain from the Netherlands, along with architect Paulo Traves from Brazil.

The program kicks off with a soft launch on March 4 at Salt Beyoğlu, followed by a series of workshops, talks, and public discussions. A key moment will take place on March 22, World Water Day, featuring a marathon-style event with presentations, performances, and roundtable discussions exploring new ways of thinking about water. Research will continue through the summer, culminating in an e-publication in December 2025.
