Minister Brekelmans announces new drone action plan for Ukraine

At 6 - 7 oktcober, the Dutch Minister of Defense, Ruben Brekelmans visited Kharkiv and Kyiv. During his visit to Ukraine, Minister Brekelmans announced a new drone action plan, reinforcing the Netherlands' leading role in supporting Ukraine.

The Dutch government is committing €400 million to collaborate with Ukraine in developing advanced drones for reconnaissance, defense, and attack purposes, with nearly 50% of the production taking place in the Netherlands. These drones will be deployed in the air, on land, and at sea.

In addition, the first batch of the promised Dutch F-16 fighter jets has already been delivered, marking a significant milestone in the military support efforts. The Netherlands has now provided approximately €3.76 billion in military aid to Ukraine, which includes munitions, spare parts, and systems to keep Ukrainian forces operational on the battlefield.
