Designed as a biotope

Netherlands pavilion: all about sustainability

Designed as a recyclable miniature world with a naturally controlled climate, the Netherlands pavilion showed how a combination of unique innovations made it possible to extract water from air, harvest food, and generate electricity. In Dubai’s challenging desert climate, the Netherlands created a temporary biotope.

The Netherlands pavilion was built and designed by a consortium comprising trade fair booth and pavilion contractor Expomobilia, V8 Architects, exhibition designers Kossmanndejong and engineering firm Witteveen+Bos.
