Dutch Minister of Defence visits London

This week, Dutch Minister of Defence, Ruben Brekelmans, visited London to meet with is his British counterpart UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, and Lord Coaker, UK Minister of State for Defence.

This week, Dutch Minister of Defence, Ruben Brekelmans, visited London to meet with is his British counterpart UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, and Lord Coaker, UK Minister of State for Defence. 

During bilateral defence discussions, topics such as the strengthening of the NATO alliance, and the need to strengthen the defence industry were also covered.

Together, the Netherlands and the UK work to keep strengthening our common security, for example through support and security guarantees to Ukraine and acting against Russian undersea sabotage.

For his visit, Minster Brekelmans was welcomed by his British counterpart, UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, with a Guard of Honour on the famous Horse Guards Parade. The Dutch Minister of Defence was invited to inspect the Guard of Honour by the Captain of the Guard Major Andy Dickinson, speaking in perfect Dutch, as a mark of respect to the Minister.
