From 12 to 14 March 2025, HortEx Vietnam 2025 takes place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. This year, a total of 21 Dutch companies, along with a sustainably-designed Netherlands Pavilion, will present tailor-made, nature-based, and future-proof solutions for Vietnam’s horticulture.

In addition to advancements in seeds and processing technology, this year will see a stronger Dutch presence, with companies showcasing advanced innovations in biological crop protection (biocontrol), eco-friendly substrates, and efficient supply chain logistics. With increasing chemical restrictions, growing environmental concerns, and rising consumer demand for safer, more sustainable products, biological crop protection is emerging as a natural and sustainable approach to managing pests and diseases with minimal environmental impact. On 13 March, a seminar titled “Advancing Integrated Pest Management in Vietnam’s Horticulture for a Sustainable Future” will take place, highlighting the shift towards a proactive, practical approach for a safer, more sustainable, and professional horticulture sector in Vietnam.

Recognising the young generation as future leaders in horticulture, the Empower Youth4Food initiative will also join the Netherlands Pavilion at HortEx 2025, hosting a seminar on 12 March titled “Seeds of Change: Engaging and Empowering Youth in Vietnam’s Horticulture.” This event (one of series of activities in EY4F campaign) aims to inspire and equip young professionals with the necessary tools to drive a resilient agricultural and food-secure future.

“The Netherlands has implemented various projects in Vietnam in horticulture, aquaculture, livestock, etc. in key agricultural areas. Regarding horticulture, numerous ongoing and upcoming projects  are being implemented, related to Integrated Pest Management, Plant Breeders’ Rights, Water Management, etc.”, said Mr. Daniël Stork,  Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City. “The Netherlands has also actively participated in HortEx since its first edition in 2019 as the Partner Country. And this year we continued our strong presence in HortEx Vietnam 2025, with 21 Dutch companies. These are strong testaments to the commitment that: the Netherlands has been and continues being a co-creating partner for Viet Nam with our knowledge, expertise, technologies and products, for a safe and more sustainable horticulture sector in Vietnam”.

Both countries are committed to advancing sustainable and circular horticulture while strengthening their positions as key players in international markets.

Reducing the footprint of agriculture, using land and water resources more efficiently, reducing food waste, and applying good agricultural practices are all part of an integrated circular approach that remains at the core of the agricultural partnership between Vietnam and the Netherlands.
