The Dutch government supports international and local NGOs through Strategic Partnership Programmes with a focus on lobby and advocacy strategies in various fields.

The programmes are funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Strengthening Civil Society Programme (2021-2025) which is run through four sub-programmes: Power of Voices, Power of Women, the HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Partnership, and Women, Peace and Security.

Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi have a total of 16 active Strategic Partnership alliances working on women’s rights and gender equality; climate change mitigation and adaptation; rights of LGBTIQ persons; trade and making value chains more sustainable; and, HIV/AIDS and SRHR.
