In 1612, Dutch envoy Cornelis Haga presented his letters of credence on behalf of the Republic of the United Provinces to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, marking the start of more than 400 years of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Turkish Republic.
The Dutch embassy in Ankara and consulate General in Istanbul represent, promote and protect the interests of the government of the Netherlands, as well as those of Dutch nationals in Türkiye. Furthermore, the Economic Team of the Embassy and Consulate deals with Economy, Trade, Investment and Agriculture between the Netherlands and Türkiye.
