The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bengaluru is part of the diplomatic and economic network of the Netherlands in India. It is responsible for the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and the Union Territories of Puducherry and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Colleagues at the Consulate General work as ‘One Team’ within the consulate as well as with the colleagues in the Embassy of the Netherlands in New Delhi, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Mumbai, the Netherlands Business Support Offices in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad and the offices of the Honorary Consuls. The India-network works in an integrated way to ensure that Dutch interests in the field of earning capacity, security and innovation are promoted in India as well as in the Netherlands, in which the NFIA plays an important role.
The position will require some travel within India, mostly within South India and to New Delhi, and occasionally to the Netherlands.

C.1 DUTIES AND RESULT AREAS

Based on a sector/market focus, support in identifying and contacting companies that may be looking to set up activities in the Netherlands

Support in monitoring the progress of current investment projects and creating preparatory documents for meetings with companies

Support in contacting companies from India already established in the Netherlands as part of our Investor Relations program
-
Maintenance of the NFIA CRM and project administration
-
Tracking various resources to build our pipeline of potential leads
-
Research and monitoring developments within selected sectors and competitive clusters
-
Participating in events and representing NFIA interests
-
Assist and cooperate with NFIA’s HQ in The Hague, with Dutch regional and local authorities responsible for investment promotion and local service providers and their intermediaries in India

Inside and outside the organization, the Project Manager will position her/himself as an expert on developing business relations between the Netherlands and South India and is seen as a valued partner;

The Project Manager is able to build, maintain and use a relevant business network;

Systems/records are kept in good order.

C.3 KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS / JOB REQUIREMENTS
Level of education: Academic working and thinking level with relevant work experience, preferably in Economics/Business administration/Sales Management or a related field.
Level of experience: At least 2 years
Knowledge:
-
2-3 years of relevant work experience desired in sales and account management and administrative support. Plus: experienced in doing business with Indian companies.
-
General knowledge of the Dutch economy and the Dutch investment climate is a plus.
-
You have proven experience in processing, organizing and analysing data and you are quickly familiar with a CRM system and other databases for collecting and processing information. You are skilled in common software applications such as Office 365 MS (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

Excellent organizational and project coordination and management skills; ability to be proactive and plan, carry out, implement, and follow up on actions. Ability to effectively coordinate and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders;

D. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Brief description of the Mission and the physical work environment
The diplomatic, consular and business support network of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of India comprises the Embassy in New Delhi, Consulates General in Bengaluru and Mumbai, Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSOs) in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad and Honorary Consuls in Chennai, Kolkata and Lucknow.
The Consulate General in Bengaluru has 12 staff members and is led by the Consul General. Work is conducted in accordance with the One Team concept as advocated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The team consists of 2 diplomats, being the CG and the Deputy CG. In addition to the Senior Policy Officer Economic Affairs, the Economic cluster consists of 1 agriculture advisor, 2 representatives of the Netherlands Innovation Network in India and 2 representatives of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency. The Operational Management and Consular cluster consists of the Operational Manager, Consular Officer, Management/Administration Assistant and the driver.
The Consulate General is housed on the 11th floor of a modern office tower on the North side of central Bengaluru, and is an open plan office. All staff work together in the same space. Normal working hours are from 8.30 am until 5.00 pm, with lunch break, except on Friday, until 3 pm.
E. TYPE OF EMPLOYEE REQUIRED
An energetic, enthusiastic, committed, self-driven and proactive team player with excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills, who can also work independently.
F. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
The selected candidate will be offered an employment contract for one year. Upon expiry of this contract, another employment contract may be offered in case of excellent job performance, also depending on decisions of the Ministry of Economic Affairs on staffing in missions abroad.
Upon employment, the employee will be ranked in salary scale 7, the same as the job level. All ten salary scales at the Embassy comprise 16 pay numbers. The pay number assigned to the employee upon employment depends on the number of years of relevant experience. After every 12 months, the employee may be awarded one additional pay number depending on his or her job performance in the preceding 12 months. At present, salary scale 7 starts with a gross monthly salary of INR 105,870 for pay number 0 and ends with a gross monthly salary of INR 158,806 pay number 15. Salaries are adjusted every year as per the 1st of January based upon the outcome of a salary survey among markers. Every December a 13th month salary is paid. Moreover, within certain restrictions, 95% of medical costs are reimbursed. Employees are encouraged and supported to seek further training and education to improve their skills and broaden their employability. This is paid for by the employer.
Income tax and social security premiums are to be paid by the employee in accordance with Indian Law and regulations.
